What
An initial attempt at a strategy game where the unit AI (rather than the unit itself) is controlled in a generic way.
Controls
UNITS:
You (red) have two types of units: "O" units are defenseless, and take in scrap (grey) upon contact to build new units. "X" units kill enemy units upon contact, leaving behind scrap.
HOW TO PLAY:
Create a new AI rule by clicking the top-left panel. A rule initially shows a unit on the left and right. This means that the left unit will be attracted to the right unit. Click either unit to select the type. Slide the right unit to tune attraction strength. Sliding the left unit to the middle reveals a third unit on the left. In this case, the middle unit will be attracted to a point between the left and right unit determined by slider position. The "R" button will reverse the direction of the rule (repulsion instead of attraction). The red "X" deletes a rule.
CLONING:
When you have found a set of AI rules that consistently dominate, use the CLONE button to copy your rules to the enemy. Face off against your own rules to find progressively better rule sets.
SCORING:
A quantitative score is provided in the top-left of the match area, to be taken with a grain of salt. The white score is the total score and, after statistical TESTing, a score for the round will be shown in green (+) or red (-). This score will not be added to your total score until you CLONE your rules to the enemy team. Thus getting a high total score requires you to defeat your own rules as many times as possible! (a "par" score is also subtracted after each round)
